HEADLINES:
  • No major changes. A general 5 inches of snow is expected, but there is a risk for more than 6 inches if a heavier burst of snow develops. Best chance would be toward the Bronx.
  • Light rain this afternoon. No big impacts.
  • Dry Sunday morning. Snow starts at noon. Worst of this is 12 - 8 p.m. Tapers off Overnight
We're tracking heavy snow at times for Sunday afternoon. Several inches of snow are expected to fall across the city and temperatures will be bitter cold for several days behind the storm. Our latest thinking is a general 5 inches of snow across the city with higher amounts in snow bursts. Some rain or sleet mixing in for Brooklyn which could lower totals slightly there.
Most of the weekend is okay! Today is dry to start with light rain showers developing in the afternoon. It's gloomy, but this is plain rain and just a nuisance.
The work week will be dangerously cold. Monday morning will feel like near 0. Tuesday and Wednesday will feel like below 0. Actual temperatures will be in the single digits on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Afternoon temperatures are not much better. We'll see highs in the teens and feels like temperatures in the single digits for the midafternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday.
We are tracking a major southern snowstorm that could make a close brush with our area on Tuesday, but at this time no snow is expected.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy to start, with rain showers likely in the afternoon and in the evening. Highs in the mid 40s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy to start with highs near 40. Snow develops after noon and will taper off after midnight.
MONDAY: Early snow showers before sunrise., then sun and cold. Highs in the upper 20s.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny early then cloudy. Dangerous cold. Highs in the teens.
WEDNESDAY: Clouds to start, then some sun and dangerous cold. Highs in the teens.
