Monday was the first day on the job for Community Board 10's new district manager.
Matthew Cruz, 25, just received his master's degree and says he's ready to facilitate communication between the board, city agencies and people who live in his jurisdiction.
Cruz says he has years of experience working with the community, working for City Councilman James Vacca's office from 2013 to 2015 and the Buildings Department from 2015 to 2017.
He studied political science, economics and urban planning in school and he says he wants to be a resource for the community board in order to help make the community a safer place.
Cruz will oversee five employees and work with 47 board members. He says in his free time, he can be found at a local gym or watching sports.
