Thousands of Thanksgiving dinners were handed out to families in need this weekend.

Baldor Specialty Foods and The Point Community Development Center gave out 2,000 meals to 500 families that contained all of the fixings for a holiday meal.

Meals were passed out at The Point's headquarters in Hunts Point.

"In theory it's for their Thanksgiving, but with the amount of food we gave them its probably enough for a week or so worth of food for their families," says Eileen Manitsas of Baldor Specialty foods. "So it just is something we've expanded every year and I'm hoping next year we'll have even more."
