Con Edison is preparing for possible power outages resulting from heavy winds during today’s major winter storm.
Director of Media Relations for Con Edison Jamie McShane says the utility company has brought in 1,000 contractors to add to their crews.
He says those crews cannot restore power until weather conditions are less treacherous.
McShane says residents who experience outages will have crews respond to their requests as quickly and safely as possible.
He also urges people to stay away from downed power lines.
