Both of Connecticut's senators announced this weekend that they received the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.
Rep. Richard Blumenthal said on Twitter that he has looked to public health officials to inform him of his decisions since the pandemic begin.
"That's why, when the Capitol Attending Physician made the vaccine available and my doctor recommended it, I get it," Blumenthal says. "I rolled up my sleeve right away. I trust this vaccine is safe and effective."
Rep. Christopher Murphy also took to Twitter, saying that the vaccine is safe, effective and it's going to save lives.
"I encourage everyone in Connecticut to get vaccinated," he said.
Murphy says he also got his first dose of the vaccine following guidance from the Office of the Attending Physician.
