New Yorkers with cars are familiar with the struggles of parking, and now residents in Bergen Beach say they are upset because finding a spot is going to become a lot more difficult for them.
Plans to expand the sidewalk between Avenues K and L is changing parking from angled to parallel.
Neighbors tell News 12 they found out about the plans from Department of Transportation workers.
They say it’s not fair, particularly because both blocks on either side still have their angled parking.
On one of those blocks, they say the sidewalk is already expanded in a way that parking wasn’t affected.
The DOT says it is reviewing the matter, but neighbors say they are worried they’ll come home one day to find the work completed and left to circle the block for a spot.
