COVID-19 vaccination site opens at YMCA in Coney Island

A COVID-19 vaccination site opened at the YMCA in Coney Island Thursday morning.
Samuel Moore, the executive director of the facility, says they're able to vaccinate 550 people a day.
"We are the world-famous Coney Island, so it's important for the local folks to have the vaccine as they walk around because more people may come and visit Coney Island,” he says.
Last Wednesday, a vaccination site opened at the Flatbush YMCA. The Northeast Bronx YMCA will also open as a vaccination site on Monday.
The Coney Island YMCA says it expects to stay open until August, but it is prepared to stay open longer if needed.
The site runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be made online.
