A vigil at McCarren Park has been held for two nights in a row and is featuring daily conversations about race and bias.
Protesters say they want the tradition to continue. Most of the protesters are seen keeping their distance but paying close attention to the speakers who are sharing their experiences of being black in America.
Speakers have discussed topics such as police reform, education and inequality.
They also have a moment of silence that lasts over eight minutes before they take their protests to the streets.
