In its third day of deliberations, a jury found former state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son Adam guilty on all counts in their retrial on federal corruption charges.
Prosecutors argued Skelos used his powerful influence and votes in Albany to secure cash and no-show jobs for his son.
Jurors poured over hundreds of pages of testimony from three prosecution witnesses — and from Skelos himself.
He testified that his son was suffering from emotional issues and alcohol abuse. And he admitted to asking for favors to try and help his son, but he denied trading governmental favors in return.
The two men were also convicted in 2015, but that conviction was overturned after a Supreme Court ruling narrowed the definition of corruption.
State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, who the 9th District seat that once belonged to Skelos, says the conviction may help restore the people's faith in government.
The Skeloses face sentencing on Oct. 24.
