The park’s grand opening was scheduled for April 4. Co-owner Dennis Vourderis tells News 12 the rides are ready to go.
Vourderis tells News 12 that because of the pandemic, they are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and will have hand sanitizer at the entrance to every ride.
He says he still does not know when that grand opening will be.
He says he is just waiting on the green light from the government. Vourderis says people in Coney Island usually know it’s spring when the cars go up on the Wonder Wheel.
"I'm hoping we celebrate with a post-pandemic party and opening day. It's our 100th year of the fantastic Wonder Wheel so that's survived a lot of pandemics epidemics, hurricanes and you name it - so we're here, we're ready tickets in hand, we're ready to rock 'n' roll,” says Vourderis.
