The Department of Sanitation is preparing to combat snow expected to be dumped on the Bronx this weekend.
Mayor Bill de Blasio held a press conference yesterday saying he is confident the DSNY and its many sister agencies have the resources to make the roads safe.
The mayor has issued a hazardous travel advisory for Saturday through Sunday.
Officials with the DSNY in Castle Hill say they will deploy workers on two split 12-hour shifts with 2,300 workers per shift to pre-treat the city's roadways.
The mayor says between the Department of Sanitation and other agencies, close to 2,000 vehicles will be fitted with plows.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the Bronx, including all other boroughs of New York City.
