Emergency room doctors are issuing a warning at the start of summer for people who are on prescription medication.

Hot summer days and some medications don’t mix well.

Emergency room doctors say they see some patients overcome with heat or sun-related issues. Sometimes they need treatment for extreme dehydration.

Some anti-inflammatory medications can make people more sensitive to the sun, although the warnings are difficult to find on labels.

Dr. Mark Conroy, who practices emergency medicine at Wexner Medical Center, said to "reach out to your local pharmacist or your primary care doctor and just talk to them about the medications you're on.”
