The Empire State Building lit up today to mark 100 days until the FIFA World Cup kicks off.
FIFA World Cup mascots Maple, Zayu, and Clutch were there to help celebrate as the tower's lights rotated in the colors of the flags of the three host countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
They were joined by Alex Lasry, CEO of the FIFA World Cup New York New Jersey Host Committee; JT Batson, CEO and secretary general of the U.S. Soccer Federation; Peter Augruso, president of Canada Soccer; and Iñigo Riestra López, secretary general of the Mexican Football Federation.
FIFA also unveiled the official FIFA World Cup 2026 Tournament Poster, combining artistic talents from all three host countries.
Brooklyn-based artist Hank Willis Thomas, Canadian artist Carson Ting, and Mexican artist Minerve GM all collaborated on the poster, combining their creative styles to design a piece that emphasizes the connection and unification across the tournament.
“In 100 days, FIFA will welcome the world to North America to witness the greatest show on earth,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Tournament Poster captures the energy, diversity and shared passion that will define the most inclusive edition of the tournament in history.
