Escape to Home: Farm chic candlestick

Who doesn't love a room lit by candlelight?
Sue Dittrich, the owner of Tin Rooster in East Northport, showed News 12's Christine Insinga how to turn spindles into beautiful candlesticks for about $20 a piece.
In the video below you can learn how to make a set of farm chic candlesticks:
The three Cs:
Can I even do this? It's a difficulty level of a two.
Commitment: It will take around three hours with dry time.
Cost: Around $20.
You can find spindles like the ones used in this project at Home Depot for about $5.
First, drill a hole in the top with a 1-inch drill bit, to fit your candle.
Then screw it onto a regular piece of wood.
Next, paint and distress the wood. Sue used chalk paint.
For the last step, use low luster varnish.
