A fire tore the roof of a home of Decatur Avenue earlier this morning, but despite the damage, residents are expressing gratitude.
Fire officials say they got the call just about a fire at 3079 Decatur Ave. just before 11:30 a.m. The streets quickly flooded with first responders.
No injuries were reported, and residents say a good Samaritan saw the flames and knocked on the door.
The American Red Cross says it has registered four households for emergency assistance and temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
