Most people love Fourth of July fireworks, however, it can be really stressful for pets.

The loud, sudden booms tend to scare our furry friends. But there are some things you can do to help them stay calm.

Veterinarians say the best place for pets during fireworks is inside, preferably in a room they are comfortable in.

But if you do find yourself outside, with fireworks being set off, one vet says a little love can go a long way. "The best thing you can do if you're outside with your dog is hold him. Take your dog and just hold him. You'll be amazed at how much calmer he will be just knowing that his owner is there and loves him and cares enough to hold him during this period," says Stephen Katz MD, of the Bronx Veterinary Center.

Experts also say it's a good time to make sure your pet's ID tags are on and updated.
