Foster and adoptive parents came out Thursday evening to be acknowledged for working with at-risk children. 

Organizers from Leake and Watts Family Foster Care hosted a dinner at Eastwood Manor and spent the night honoring parents.

They also handed out some awards.

The organization says foster parents not only work with children in foster care but they also mentor birth parents.
