Family members and friends said goodbye to one of the 14-year-old boys killed in a wrong-way crash in Jericho Wednesday night.

The funeral for Ethan Falkowitz was held at Temple Sinai of Roslyn. Falkowitz and 14-year-old Drew Hassenbein, who were both from Roslyn, were killed by an alleged drunk driver who was driving the wrong way on North Broadway (Route 106). Detectives say Amandeep Singh, 34, was driving a Dodge Ram southbound in the northbound lanes and collided with a 2019 Alfa Romeo with four teenagers inside.

Hassenbein and Falkowitz were Roslyn Middle School students, best friends and nationally ranked tennis players. The boys had just finished a victory dinner after beating the Syosset High School tennis team in a match.

"It's just absolutely heartbreaking across the tennis community," says tennis coach Jay Harris. "But for that to happen here in Roslyn to two special boys, it's crushing."

The other teens, ages 16 and 17, were taken to the hospital for internal injuries but are listed in stable condition.

Singh is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an auto accident with a fatality, DWI and two counts of assault. Prosecutors say Singh's blood alcohol level was .18.

Singh was held without bail and is due back in court on May 8.
