Gas prices set record for highest national average price ever

The average for New York state currently sits two cents higher at $4.88, with the city average currently at $5.05, according to AAA.

AAA says a gallon of gas now costs on average $4.86, a new record.
The average for New York state currently sits two cents higher at $4.88, with the city average currently at $5.05, according to AAA.
Even with New York beginning the gas tax holiday to decrease the price of gas per gallon, the cost at the pump continues to rise.
The federal government has cited the ongoing war in Ukraine as one reasons for the increase in gas prices, and people are scared to see if gas will hit $5 per gallon nationwide.
“I’m about to buy a scooter, you know, one of those battery scooters, and just leave my car parked,” said David Samuel, a local driver. “It’s ridiculous.”
