The heavy rain and dangerous winds are causing problems across Long Island.

News 12 Long Island’s Antoinette Biordi was in Great Neck where they bore the brunt of Ida and suffered severe flooding near the train station.

Village officials tell News 12 that they've hired an engineering company since Ida to try to make things better.

The potential for strong gusts of winds could put the trees in Great Neck at risk. Crews cut off some dead branches ahead of the latter part of the storm.
