Gov. Hochul advances proposals to build over 5,000 affordable housing units in Brooklyn

The proposals include 18 new housing developments in Gowanus, which will house more than 1,400 affordable units.

As the city faces its lowest vacancy rate in six decades, Gov. Kathy Hochul is advancing 18 proposals to build over 5,000 affordable housing units in Brooklyn.
This includes 18 new housing developments in Gowanus, which will house more than 1,400 affordable units.
Hochul has also announced the groundbreaking for a 654 unit development at 320 and 340 Nevins St. That project will include 154 affordable units.
Part of the affordable housing project is estimated to be completed by 2026.
