24ds agoBrooklyn Assembly member William Colton and members of the Gravesend community rallied Wednesday against the city’s proposal to turn the schoolyard at I.S. 228 into a public park.
They say that a public park in place of a schoolyard would create serious safety, health and quality of life issues.
The Department of Education released a statement saying, “The city is committed to delivering a nearly $5 million investment to the neighborhood and we will work with the Parks Department and stakeholders in the school community to come to a resolution."
