The Anti-Defamation League says there were 3,697 antisemitic incidents in the U.S. in 2022, which was a 36% increase from 2021. It is also the highest number on record since the ADL began tracking these incidents in 1979.
The ADL found that antisemitic incidents happened in all 50 states, with New York recording the most at 580. New Jersey was also near the top of the list, with 408 incidents. Connecticut had 68 in 2022, which was
a 100% increase from 2021.
The U.S. State Department defines antisemitic criminal acts as when the targets of an attack, whether they are people or property, are selected because they are, or are perceived to be, Jewish or linked to Jews.
