A handicapped police officer spoke to students Tuesday at the Visitation School in Kingsbridge.
Officer Steven McDonald was shot three times in the neck and head on July 12, 1986. The incident left him paralyzed and in need of a ventilator.
On Tuesday morning, McDonald spoke to more than 75 fifth-graders at the Visitation School. Students say his message of forgiveness and faith will stay with them through the holiday season.
In addition to speaking at schools, McDonald spreads his message through work with the Navy and peace groups in Northern Ireland.
