Rain hit the borough hard Thursday, leaving the evening commute messy and wet but clearing up several hours later.
Many pedestrian commuters near Pelham Parkway carried umbrellas or wore their hoods up, and drivers had to deal with slick roads and low visibility.
"Driving is bad," said Melody Velez on her way home. "There's traffic, and walking around is not too great, either."
The heavy rain fell almost constantly throughout much of the day, but died down by nightfall, when residents came out to enjoy the warm air.
Some Bronx residents even said they decided to take advantage of the nice weather for some last-minute holiday shopping.
Forecasts predict partly cloudy skies Friday morning with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s by nighttime.
