Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day- a day created in 2015 as a way to thank officers across the U.S.
Several organizations came together to honor officers for all the daily sacrifices they make for their communities.
Some ways citizens can show appreciation for law enforcement officials are to wear blue-colored clothing, send a card of support to a police station, share a positive law enforcement experience on social media, or to simply thank an officer if you see one.
Law enforcement officials are sometimes the only paid emergency resource a community has.
Law enforcement officials work in coordination with other local, state, and federal organizations to make communities safer.
