Montefiore Health System, along with officers from the 52nd Precinct, hosted a Three Kings Day celebration in the Bronx today.
Sixty families were invited to take part in the celebration at the Life Center on 1554 Minford Place.
Organizers say 60 grandmothers belonging to the Love Over Violence program were given gifts to hand out to their grandchildren.
They say the program helps grandmothers facing economic hardships as the primary caretakers of their grandchildren. Children received 150 presents from organizers.
Program organizers say Love Over Violence also hosts monthly meetings for grandparents to address and overcome social and economic barriers with their grandchildren.
