Investigation at Longwood home could be related to found body parts
A police investigation at a Longwood home could be connected to the discovery of body parts at one of two neighborhood parks in the Bronx.
Since 7 a.m. Wednesday, at least a half-dozen forensic experts in white hazmat suits were seen going in and out of the home at 1006 Longfellow Ave. They brought out several brown evidence bags and continued to comb the backyard of the house into the late afternoon.
The multifamily home was blocked off from public view by an NYPD crime barrier used in cases of a sensitive nature. Neighbors say investigators also dug through garbage pails along the block.
A police source tells News 12 that the Longwood scene may be linked to one of those discoveries.
Police were not letting anyone onto Longfellow Avenue unless they had proof of residency there. Lights brought to the scene indicated that police would be there into the night.
