Jacobi Medical Center marked the one year anniversary since the coronavirus hit their hospital on March 19.
Staff gathered in the lobby of Building Six for a moment of silence.
The ceremony featured a prayer over the PA system, and candles for those who lost their lives to the virus.
Chief nursing officer Suzanne Pennachio says they remember all the patients that they lost in 2020, their families and five staff members who work at the hospital.
Pennachio says they want to honor and remember them always.
Organizers say some of the work in the area of the hospital used for the ceremony was made by students for the frontline workers at the hospital.
