5h agoElected officials are weighing in on the latest political drama following the arrest of former President Donald Trump.
Rep. Ritchie Torres says that if Trump did the crime, he should do the time.
"If you're falsifying business records in order to receive $130,000 in campaign contributions, that is a crime serious enough to justify criminal prosecution," said Torres.

His Republican colleagues are not all in agreeance - Rep. Rand Paul and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy spoke out, claiming inequal justice is at work.
"I do get concerned when I look out there and I see justice not being equal to others," said McCarthy. "The tough part is with a local DA playing in presidential politics, that starts right there."
Torres says it goes beyond politics, as Congress members such as Rep. Jim Jordan called on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to testify on Capitol Hill.
"The Republicans complain about the weaponization of government and yet here the Republicans are weaponizing government against a Manhattan District Attorney in an attempt to interfere in an official prosecution," said Torres.
