Dozens of members of the borough's LGBTQ community gathered to break bread during a special meal this Thanksgiving.
The celebration held at the Destination Tomorrow office in the South Bronx.
Organizers say it's a safe space for people to come for support and services.
There was music and dancing and, of course, plenty of food.
"A lot of core members say that folks in the LGBTQ community suffer from isolation and depression especially around the holidays and we wanted to alleviate that," says Destination Tomorrow Director Dean Coleman. "So, if for one day we can make these folks happy and provide a meal, then I think our mission was accomplished."
Destination Tomorrow offers services including a GED program, help with housing, health care and jobs, along with various support programs.
