A first-of-its-kind light installation is glowing in the streets of Morris Park.
The display called 'Pulse' decorates the fence along Loreto Playground and Morris Park Avenue. The design is meant to signify interconnectedness and diversity in the community.
The Morris Park Business Improvement District spearheaded the idea. They say their goal is to enhance the public space and bring vibrancy to the neighborhood.
"We wanted to have something in the Bronx similar to Manhattan, where they have the Empire State Building, with the lights showcasing every community celebration and special occasion but, in the Bronx, we didn't have nothing like this, so with this installation we will be able to change colors and patterns," said Camelia Tepelus, Executive Director of Morris Park Business Improvement District.
The lights were funded by a grant from the New York City Small Business Services agency.
