Some New Yorkers are joining lawmakers’ calls to remove President Donald Trump from office following last week’s deadly riots at the Capitol.
These demands come as threats of a second impeachment continue to loom.
North Bronx Racial Justice may be small, but their message is loud and clear. They say they want equal treatment for everyone, and that removing President Trump from office is the first step.
Tuesday’s rally called for the president’s removal and expressed their discontent with racial disparity in this country.
They say last week’s riot at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. is a prime example of how people of color are treated differently than white people.
“It’s white power fascism essentially it’s racist. And there are far too many people in this country who are fighting for change the desperately needs to happen,” said North Bronx Racial Justice Coordinator Jennifer Scarlott.
The group says they hope lawmakers will listen to their demands so that real justice can be served.
