Processions in observance of Good Friday are taking place all across the globe, including at the Sacred Heart Parish in Highbridge.
The procession started at the steps of the church and made its way through the neighborhood streets, with 14 stops of scripture, hymns, and displays.
Residents say the procession serves as a reminder for prayer and a spiritual journey to remind them of the final hours before Jesus died on the cross.
Father Jose Cruz says the procession can serve as a lesson and a community bonding experience.
“These images help us to keep fresh in our mind the sacrifice that we as Catholics and as Christians remember a day like today,” said Cruz.
More services will be available to the community leading up to Easter Sunday.
