Luna Park in Coney Island has opened its gates for the 2023 season.

The opening kicked off with an annual egg cream christening for the classic rides in the park.

This year marks the 96th birthday of the famous Cyclone roller coaster. Over the weekend, the first 96 riders will get on for free in honor of the milestone.

A blessing of the rides at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park will also begin at 11 a.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
