Well, it's Thursday. That means it's time for main Street, Connecticut where we explore all kinds of fun locations in towns and cities across our area. Today, we're in East and let's head over to news from Connecticut. Just develop that coffee and market, Justin. It is time to rise and shine. As they say here in East in the coffee is brewing, the place is jumping heart rates are up. We are here with Adrian Burke, the owner of Greer's Coffee and Market. Tell us a little welcome to Res. Um We are in a several 100 year old building that has been owned by the Reser family since 1926. We created the coffee shop six years ago. This is our community. We call this our cupboard of directors. Um Almost 100 different people in town have established store credit so that they can have a cup, a mug on the cupboard. These are our baked goods. We bake every morning. Our famous Croke Gras is a breakfast sandwich with ham and bechamel on a croissant and brie cheese event. We host events all summer out down in the lower parking lot behind the gas station with live music and cookouts tonight. Phoebe Merrill was playing, she went to Barlow High School and now lives in Nashville. She's coming back to play tonight. We're grilling pork, pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese. Talk to me what we got over here. Let's take a, so we're not just a coffee shop. We're a little market. It's a great place to come for gifts. We change our displays all the time, but we sell lots of locally made items over here. We've got jewelry by local makers and pottery by local makers and I can, I'm going to leave with something, the sculptures too, you know, Helen Keller lived in Easton. So we have a local sculptor who makes Helen Keller candles. This is the only place in the world you'll find one of these Jt Hunsucker in the back. I can take you back. We've got walking. I mean, we have a market so lots of specialty foods and we make panini and sandwiches every day salads. Um So this is, we've got, um, all local authors and the books too. Books. My favorite books about Sharks James Pros lives in town. We have his books, Dan Slater has a new book out. We've got his book, Love it. You off. This stuff is beautiful. Is all the time we have. Let's go to News 12, Connecticut's Justin Deve who is standing by at Silverman's farm. There you go. You got the cap for Justin. Well, I mean, they say an apple a day, right? And a trip to Silverman's a day. Same thing. We're here with the, the goat. No pun intended, the greatest of all time. The owner here at Silverman's Silverman. How you doing this morning? Thanks for, thanks for having us. Thanks for the hat. You're getting a little education on how to feed goats here now, huh? Let's do it. Well, why don't go right ahead. They know they know you're coming. All right. All right. I love it. So, first we fill this bucket here, right? Give them a little more. Don't be so cheap. Come on, load it up. How's this more? Fill it to the brim? Ok. One more crank it up and they, they know you're up there waiting, crank it up, crank it up, crank it up and you built this thing Oh, yeah. Here we go. Come on now. It's getting a work out here. Oh, yeah. There we go. All right now we gotta lay it down easy. Let's go. He's got it all to himself there. Oh, no. Oh, here he comes. Here comes the other guy. Love it. So, tell me. So, you guys, you're planning on being busy this weekend, huh? You know, the weather's finally breaking. So, we're getting a little cooler weather. Moms will have all the kids out this weekend and today and the kids love the animal farm. So they'll be out here feeding the goats and the chickens and the kids must absolutely love, uh, you know, feeding them this way. I'm not, I mean, I guess I'm a big kid but, you know, they absolutely love this. Then they have the playground over there, you know, with tractors and everything else that they can play on. Right. So, they have a great time and it's perfect weather. Right? So, and I mean, this place is a state, I mean, for people who don't know, what else, what else do you guys offer? We try and then we're picking peaches today and kids love peaches. So they have a lot of fun. Oh, that's awesome. And so, so you grew up here, I mean, talk to me a little bit about the history in this place. Dad started the farm in 1920. So we're 100 and four years old. Grew up on the farm, loved it. Went to school when I graduated, I just came back. There was no uh no blueprint of what I was gonna do in life. It just kept going and going and going and I love it. It's a lot of fun. I love it. And, and I feel like, you know, correct me if I'm wrong. But nowadays, you know, everybody's rushing and the world, you know, moving so fast. But this is kind of like, you know, you take it, you take a step back, you take a slow, you know, this is like farm living here and kids today they don't see a lot of farms around. So I have a funny expression that little kids think the apple growing super stop and shop because they don't see them on the trees. So they come out and they literally pick an apple or pick a pizza off a tree, eat it right there and it's a great experience, you know, they have a lot of fun. I love it. And so you guys are open, I mean, people gotta come on down, right? We're open seven days a week, seven days a week. I love it. Hours. What are the hours? 9 to 5 every day? 9 to 5. Hey, you heard it here first and it's a perfect timing. This weekend's gonna be perfect, just like you said. Gonna be perfect. Cool. Thank you, buddy. Thank you so much. I'm gonna get back to feeding these goats a little bit here, guys, back to you. All right. Yeah, those goats are waiting for you. Justice. Thanks.
