Man in ICE custody 1 step closer to reunion with family

A Bronx mother is one step closer to being reunited with her husband who has been in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody for close to three years.
This week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo granted Ousman Darboe clemency for a robbery conviction.
“I feel like I have a new chance to prove myself,” said Darboe. “I feel grateful.”
However, the 25-year old remains in ICE custody at the Bergen County Jail in New Jersey.
Darboe came to the U.S. when he was 6 years old as an undocumented immigrant. He faces deportation to his birthplace of Gambia in West Africa.
His legal team is working to get him released from ICE and will be fighting his case in state and federal court.
His wife, Lashalle Darboe, told News 12 that she and their 2-year-old daughter miss Ousman and are awaiting his return.
