The search is on for a delivery driver seen in a video struggling to
make it through the floodwaters Ida brought to New York City.
John Miller was one of the many New Yorkers
caught in the torrential down pours of Ida. Instead of pulling out his umbrella,
he grabbed his camera and started to film in Williamsburg.
“There were trash bins turned over, there were floating bags of trash
and cars stalled in this intersection, and just pouring rain, super
heavy rain,” he says. “About five minutes
after that, this delivery man sort of came around one of the cars on the
intersection and pushed his bike through the intersection."
Miller
posted the video on Twitter and he says it went viral immediately. With thousands of retweets and millions of views, he
got an idea.
"I'm in Brooklyn trying to find this guy
because I promised on my Twitter that I would donate any sort of media money
that I got from licensing the video to him,” he says.
There are still some reminders of the heavy
rainfall in the area, with cars remaining abandoned in the middle of the
street.
Miller plans on putting up posters and has even
partnered with the New York Times to try and identify the delivery driver to
donate some of the money he gained from the post.
