A man accused of attacking a Bronx MTA worker was sentenced Friday.

Anthony Williams was sentenced to five years in the 2023 attack of Baboo Singh.

During the attack, 74-year-old Singh suffered a broken nose and broken facial bones while in his MTA uniform. He was waiting for the train at the Nereid Avenue subway station.

Singh, who has since retired, says the whole thing continues to haunt him.

“I was just hoping that he didn’t push me on the track because the train was coming. The fear of seeing death coming to you. You have to live with that fear,” Singh said.

Singh and his colleagues also say not enough is done to protect transit workers. They are calling for more police to be added to train stations.
