Man sought for robbing, slashing woman in Morrisania

The NYPD says the man approached the 54-year-old woman just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 20 near Union Avenue and Freeman Street.

Police are looking for a man who robbed and slashed a woman in Morrisania.

The NYPD says the man approached the 54-year-old woman just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 20 near Union Avenue and Freeman Street.

The man took $100 from the woman, and when she resisted, he slashed her in the face, back and leg.

Police say the robber ran from the scene.

EMS took the 54-year-old to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she is expected to recover.

The NYPD asks anyone with information to call its Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
