Mayor Bill de Blasio says health officials could find more cooling towers infected with legionella across the city, in addition to the 10 in the Bronx that tested positive.

According to officials, Samuel Gompers High School on Southern Boulevard, one of the sites that tested positive for Legionnaires' disease, will be closed to all activity this week. Officials are expected to be in front of the school informing people about what happened.

The other infected towers are located at the New York City Housing Court on the Grand Concourse, the Bronx Hall of Justice, the Verizon building at 1106 Hoe Ave., and 554 Grand Concourse, where a post office used to be.

The most recent numbers report 109 total cases of Legionnaires' disease in the Bronx. In addition, 94 people have been hospitalized, 76 have been treated and released and 10 have died from the disease.

De Blasio is expected to update the public today on the containment of the outbreak. He is also expected to introduce his new legislation aimed at reducing an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease in the future.

For building owners and landlords, the state is offering free testing. Anyone interested in the test is asked to call 1-888-769-7243 to set up an appointment, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
