Candidates for New York City mayor
gathered for a virtual forum Monday to discuss how they would handle the
challenges facing the boroughs.
Carlos Menchaca, Maya Wiley, Kathryn Garcia and Scott Stringer were some of the
candidate to explain how they would work with the state to rebuild from the
impacts of the pandemic.
“We need to have a partnership with Albany,” Wiley says. “And that is a
partnership that requires us to prioritize the fact that everybody has
something to put on the table.”
Garcia also spoke about the importance of getting environmental justice
activists to take place in decision making.
The general primaries for the mayoral election are on June 22. The general
election will be on Nov. 2.
