The Halloween spirit has taken over a home on Flint Avenue in Eastchester, where one couple has taken the holiday tradition to a whole new level.

Jeremy Zelkowitz and his wife, who share a passion for Halloween, have transformed their home into a frightful spectacle, featuring roughly 300 animatronics.

“All for the love of Halloween. It brings everyone together,” Zelkowitz said.

The couple's love for the holiday began long ago. They met while working at a haunted house and decided to bring their mutual passion to life five years ago by decorating their own home with a chilling array of props.

“Every year, we’re moving the props around or changing things, getting new things. So, we always like to keep it different and fresh, Zelkowitz said.

Among their collection are animatronics that can cost more than $300 each. Despite the steep price tag, the couple says it’s all worth it.

The only downside? The electricity bill.

“It does go up, but it’s just one month out of the year,” Zelkowitz said. “So, you know, we do it for the community.”

Their home is filled from front yard to backyard, with animatronics and eerie decorations that even stretch inside the house. However, when Christmas rolls around, the couple keeps it low key, with just a few lights and traditional decorations.

“Christmas, we are normal. We put up a couple of strands of lights, Santa, Rudolph. But we keep it at that. You know, we let the neighbors take Christmas. We’re Halloween,” Zelkowitz explained.

This Halloween, the couple isn’t just showing off their elaborate decorations. They’re opening their haunted house to the public for free on Halloween night.

The home will be filled with live actors, animatronic jump scares and plenty of spooky thrills.

“Actual walk-through. So, we have live actors in there, tons of animatronics, jump scares. It’s the real deal,”Zelkowitz said.

The haunting will begin at dusk, and visitors are encouraged to come in costume to Fright on Flint at 2566 Flint Ave.
