Morris Park community members are calling for cleaner streets, and are hoping Community Board 11 will step in and take action.
People who live around the Morris Park train station say they are hoping to see some cleaner streets in the neighborhood – and to do that they say they need more alternate side parking.
Around 100 residents joined in the effort to get alternate side parking along the Greenway.
Community Board 11 District Manager Jeremy Warneke says beyond the trash, people are also concerned with those who park their cars there and don't move them for multiple days.

"Vehicles can park along Esplanade here for weeks at a time, months at a time," he says.

Alternate side parking was added directly in front of the train station a few months ago, and residents say they are hoping to see more of it.
Waraneke will present the petition to Community Board 11 this month.

He says he told many members of the community about the idea, and so far none have really opposed it.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Sanitation on the issue and it says that it is illegal to litter in public spaces, and that property owners are responsible for keeping their spaces clean.
