Real estate experts tell News 12 that Mott Haven is experiencing a luxury rental boom with new apartment buildings offering high-end amenities.

One development, Bruckner House, offers a jacuzzi, steam room, outdoor movie section, and even a VR lounge among other amenities.

Real estate broker Jason Christie says this trend reflects a growing demand for luxury living in the Bronx.

“People who live in the Bronx also want luxury, and they also don't necessarily want to have to leave their borough to get it,” he said.

Currently, there are over 200 apartments available in the neighborhood on Streeteasy. With concessions and free amenity packages, some units have a net-effective rent of $2,400 a month for a one-bedroom. Mott Haven residents like Julian Santos are excited about the opportunities these developments bring, describing it as “a great opportunity” for living in the Bronx.

New businesses are also popping up throughout Mott Haven to cater to the new residents living there. Maurice Smith manages SoBro Juice Bar, which opened up over the summer. He said, “This area is fairly new, so we wanted to open up a nice business to fit in with the neighborhood.”
