Carisma Hayes, 16, is in stable condition after being rescued from a fire on Wednesday.

The fire broke out inside her NYCHA apartment on Alexander Avenue.

The 16-year-old was home alone with her cat and dog when the fire began.

She called her father when she realized she was trapped.

“I will never forget that call. She was panicking and telling me daddy I’m dying in the house," said Tyrone Hayes, Carisma's father.

She was rushed by emergency personnel to Lincoln Hospital, where she was put in a medically induced coma.

She is now awake but heavily sedated.

"They don’t want her to really talk but she’s doing fine she’s coming along they are just draining all the fluids," said Hayes.
