MTA fare hike vote pushed until February
The proposed MTA vote on possible fare hikes is pushed until next month.
It was announced during a board meeting Thursday.
The MTA board was supposed to decide on one of two options.
One proposal would keep the base fare at $2.75, but would end the bonus for buying a pay-per-ride MetroCard.
The second would raise the base fare to $3, but would double the bonus up to 10 percent.
Board members pushed the vote citing too many proposals are on the table at this time, such as the governor's new plan for the L train.
