Safety barriers have now been installed at the Clark Street subway station in Brooklyn Heights.
The barriers are part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Platform Safety Pilot Program. The yellow fence-like structures are implemented along the edge of the platform to give New Yorkers peace of mind and make rides smoother.
Barriers are also already in place at the 191st Street station in Manhattan. The MTA says they will also be installed to the West 8 Street station in Coney Island and to another station that has yet to be determined. If successful, the MTA says it will expand to more high-traffic stations.
