MTA offers free MetroCards for students

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is welcoming students back by reminding them they are entitled to a free student MetroCard provided by the Department of Education.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is welcoming students back by reminding them they are entitled to a free student MetroCard provided by the Department of Education.
Cards are issued to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The MetroCard is only valid on school days between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Students will get up to three free rides per day to cover any after school activities they may need to get to.
