Pelham Bay residents say they woke up Thursday morning to air bags ripped from their Honda vehicles.
"I put my daughter in her car seat for her first day of 3-K, and then I was like, 'Oh my God, where are my air bags?'" resident Lindsay Lopez told News 12.
News 12 crews captured eight Honda vehicles with broken locks and missing air bags on Merry Avenue.
Residents say their area is no stranger to car part thefts. Over the last three months, they have experienced catalytic converter, rim, tire and now air bag thefts.
Victims say they no longer feel safe.
Police told residents to purchase "clubs" to lock their wheels in place and help aid in theft prevention.
Police say no arrests have been made.
